Ingredient Safety & Regulations
Are your ingredients safe to use in cosmetic formulations?
Yes. All of our ingredients are sourced to cosmetic-grade standards and are intended for use by trained formulators and cosmetic manufacturers. Each product listing includes recommended usage levels and safety notes. We strongly recommend reviewing all applicable regulatory guidelines for your region (e.g., FDA, EU Cosmetics Regulation).
Do you provide Safety Data Sheets (SDS)?
Yes. SDS documents are available upon request for all ingredients we carry. Please contact us via our Contact page and include the product name in your message.
Are your ingredients tested on animals?
We are committed to sourcing cruelty-free ingredients wherever possible. Please check individual product listings or contact us for specific cruelty-free certification details.
Usage Levels & Dilution
What usage levels do you recommend for your actives?
Recommended usage levels are listed on each product page. As a general guide, most actives are used at 0.1%–10% depending on the ingredient and application. Always start at the lower end of the recommended range and conduct patch testing before full formulation use.
How do I dilute or incorporate powdered actives into my formula?
Most water-soluble powders should be pre-dissolved in a small amount of distilled water or your water phase before adding to your formulation. Oil-soluble actives should be incorporated into your oil phase. Specific incorporation instructions are noted on each product listing. When in doubt, consult the ingredient's technical data sheet or contact us for guidance.
Can I combine multiple actives in one formula?
Many actives can be combined, but compatibility depends on pH, solubility, and concentration. For example, certain vitamin C derivatives are sensitive to pH and may degrade when combined with alkaline ingredients. We recommend researching each active's compatibility profile and conducting stability testing on your finished formula.
Cosmetic-Grade vs. Food-Grade
Are your ingredients cosmetic-grade or food-grade?
Our ingredients are supplied as cosmetic-grade unless explicitly stated otherwise in the product listing. Cosmetic-grade ingredients meet purity standards for topical skin and hair care applications. They are not intended for ingestion unless a product is specifically listed as food-grade or USP/NF grade.
Can I use cosmetic-grade ingredients in food or supplements?
No. Cosmetic-grade ingredients should not be used in food, beverages, or dietary supplements. If you require food-grade or USP-grade materials, please contact us to inquire about availability.
Storage & Shelf Life
How should I store my ingredients?
Most ingredients should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Specific storage conditions (e.g., refrigeration, nitrogen blanketing) are noted on each product listing. Always keep containers tightly sealed when not in use to prevent moisture absorption and oxidation.
What is the shelf life of your ingredients?
Shelf life varies by ingredient and is listed on each product page where available. As a general rule, most dry powders have a shelf life of 12–24 months when stored correctly, while oils and liquid actives may range from 18–36 months. Always check for changes in color, odor, or texture before use, as these may indicate degradation.
Do you include expiration or best-before dates on your packaging?
Yes, where applicable, a best-before or manufacture date is included on the product label. If you need batch or date information for a specific order, please contact us with your order number.
Shipping & Handling
How are powders and oils packaged for shipping?
Powders are sealed in airtight, moisture-resistant packaging to preserve integrity during transit. Liquid oils and actives are bottled in leak-proof containers and cushioned to prevent breakage. We take care to ensure your ingredients arrive in the same condition they left our facility.
Do you ship internationally?
Please check our shipping policy or contact us for current international shipping availability and any applicable restrictions for specific ingredients in your country.
What if my order arrives damaged?
If your order arrives damaged, please photograph the packaging and product immediately and contact us within 24 hours of delivery via our Contact page. We will work with you to resolve the issue promptly.
Returns & Refunds
Can I return cosmetic ingredients?
Due to the nature of cosmetic ingredients and quality control requirements, we are generally unable to accept returns on opened products. If you received a wrong item, a defective product, or your order was damaged in transit, please contact us within 24 hours of receiving your order and we will make it right.
What if I ordered the wrong ingredient?
We recommend double-checking ingredient names, INCI names, and specifications before ordering. If you have questions about which ingredient is right for your formulation, please reach out before placing your order — we're happy to help. Contact us via our Contact page.
